We are energy, both raw and refined – this knowing is likely what lead to me becoming a Reiki (energy) practitioner and master. I started doing yoga at home in 2014, it was then I discovered a love for Kundalini Yoga, the yoga of consciousness. This practice I grew privately before feeling the call to pursue teacher training. In December 2018, I completed RYT 200 with ‘Yoga For You’ in Bismarck, ND. Following that accomplishment I opened a Public Studio currently known as ‘Sacred Center’.

Within this charmed space I offer weekly yoga classes, creative and spiritual workshops and Reiki healing services. The class teaching style is a fusion of Vinyasa flow and Kundalini Yoga. This mix allows students to grow their subtle (energy) body awareness while strengthening their physical form. Sharing this transformative practice allows the liberation others to live more fully and that feels like bliss.

Stephanie Strand

Stephanie Strand

Bismarck, ND

200 RYT with YogaFIt and Jaya Yoga, 500 RYT with Devanadi; currently working on 1000 hr Yoga Therapy through Yoga North.
I started doing yoga in college in 2003, as an extra credit class and loved it. From there I took my first training in Minneapolis and started teaching at CrossFit gyms. I went out to the east coast and did another 200 hr RYT intensive training bouncing up and down Oregon and Washington.

I enjoy learning about all styles of yoga and exploring the different practices. Making creative sequences that blend together and move into a flowing meditation makes me feel better. A meditative flowing movement is what I want for my students, and it keeps improving every class. My most favorite place to be is where people are gathered to breathe, sweat, move, and achieve more than just a physical workout. The music and sounds of people moving in sync create a whole new experience you can’t get anywhere else. It is truly like a dance of spirit!

Yoga is a beautiful union between all elements of what comprises who you truly are, as a whole person. It is your spirit, body, emotions, mind, essence, and everything in between. It is more than just the pose, it goes deeper than that. Yoga is what makes us better people so that we can go out into the world and do better for others.

Stephanie owns The Yoga Boutique.

Stephanie is teaching Chakra Balancing on Sunday at 11:00AM.

Terra Scharnowske

Terra Scharnowske

Bismarck, ND

My yoga practice started over 10 years ago by watching yoga videos with my mom. Yoga was a journey that we started together and have both fallen in love with. Since then I’ve gone in and out of a consistent practice. Every time I have taken a break from yoga I have always come back.
I regained a strong yoga practice in January of 2017. I had a knee injury and was unable to do many of the other activities I enjoyed. Practicing yoga helped my knee recover and slowly gain its strength back. A few months after I came back to my practice I began to notice a positive internal shift. The more I practiced yoga (on and off the mat) the more I realized the many benefits besides just the physical aspects. Yoga helped me to find the courage to make necessary changes in my life that have helped me grow. As a teacher I want to create a safe environment to help students explore their practice like I have been able to.
I currently teach at Transitions Yoga (Bismarck), The Studio: Wellness Community of Mandan and through my own business Nomadic Winds Yoga. As a teacher, and a student, I love moving with the breath in Vinyasa Flow, Gentle Flow, Aerial and Prenatal styles of yoga. Even though I have finished my yoga teacher training I’m excited to continue learning more about different styles of yoga. I feel like as a teacher our training is never truly over!
I completed my 200hr yoga teacher training at Transitions Yoga in June 2018. I finished my Aerial Hammock Professional Teacher Training through XPERT Pole & Aerial Fitness in January 2019. I am a certified prenatal yoga teacher and I completed my 85hr training through Devi Mommas Prenatal Training at Transitions Yoga in May 2019. I am currently working towards my RPYT through Yoga Alliance.

Terra is teaching Kali Goddess Flow on Sunday at 8:00AM.
