Not Saying Goodbye – Bonny Fetch
The first North Dakota Yoga Conference was held on October 6-8, 2017. I was fortunate to be one of the co-founders, along with Allison Rissel and Brenda Stone. Building a conference from the ground up took a lot of planning and a lot of work. It has truly been a labor of love to be instrumental in creating this yoga community.
On a trip to Yellowstone Park a few years ago, my friend remarked that I had to see every geyser, every paint pot, everything bubbling up from the ground, and every attraction. Likewise, when I cruise I get off the ship on every port and go on excursions to see as much of the country as I can. I have been to Alaska twice and I want to return, this time to actually walk on a glacier. On a recent trip to the Caribbean, I learned to snorkel, and I want to do more of that. I find something interesting everywhere I go. There are so many more roads to travel, and borrowing the words of Robert Frost….”miles to go before I sleep.”
I have decided to give myself more time to travel and to pursue some other interests, and so I made the difficult decision to retire from my role as an organizer of the North Dakota Yoga Conference. Allison Rissel and Sigrid Strebe will continue as organizers and I have no doubt NDYC will continue to flourish.
This is not goodbye. I will be involved as a participant (unless I am somewhere on a glacier or in a rainforest or wherever), and perhaps also as a teacher from time to time. I wish you all well…stay strong…stay involved…namaste
